DVS PROGRESSIVE SAFETY SYSTEM 2024
ENQUIREABOUT THIS SERVICE
WHAT IS THE DVS PROGRESSIVE SAFE SYSTEM?
The Progressive Safe System (PSS) is an advanced iteration of the current Direct Vision Standard (DVS) Safe System, which fleet operators must install on their heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) over 12 tonnes to legally operate within Greater London starting from 28th October 2024.
While maintaining the core purpose of the current system, the new DVS Progressive Safe System introduces greater intelligence and sophistication. Its primary objective is to enhance drivers' indirect vision and eliminate blind spots on the vehicle's nearside.
The standout feature of Bromco's DVS PSS Solution is the Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), which uses AI cameras to differentiate between stationary and moving objects. Furthermore, the BSIS Ai Camera is designed to completely eradicate blind spots on the passenger side of both the vehicle and trailer. Additionally, the system incorporates a front AI camera detection mechanism, known as the Moving Off Information System (MOIS). Similar to the BSIS, this system can distinguish between stationary and moving objects, ensuring drivers are alerted solely to the presence of moving objects.
DO I REQUIRE THE DVS PROGRESSIVE SAFE SYSTEM?
If your HGV has a DVS star rating of 0, 1, or 2 stars, or if you have a DVS Safety Permit valid only until 2024, you must install the Progressive Safe System before reapplying for a new DVS Safety Permit.
For fleet operators with HGVs over 12 tonnes operating within Greater London, it is crucial to determine your vehicles' star ratings. You can obtain this information from the Transport for London (TfL) website.
According to Transport for London, over 211,000 HGVs will need the new DVS Progressive Safe System to comply with the updated regulations before applying for the HGV Safety Permit. Ensure your fleet is DVS compliant to avoid fines of up to £550 per day.
BROMCO’S DVS PSS SOLUTION
Through the creation of multiple versions and rigorous testing of radar and AI technologies at our own in-house testing facility using our very own HGV demo vehicle, we have surpassed TFL (Transport for London) October 2024 new requirements for complete compliance when entering London with our AI Progressive Safe System (PSS) Solution.
Bromco’s Progressive Safe System (PSS) is designed for aftermarket use on various vehicle makes and models which complies with EU and UNECE standards (R151 for Blind Spot Information System and R159 for Moving Off Information System) to protect Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs).
Using advanced AI Cameras, Bromco’s BSIS and MOIS detect VRUs while ignoring street furniture to minimise false positives. The system visually and audibly warns drivers of nearby VRUs.
AI cameras eliminate blind spots and provide crucial visual data. Bromco’s self-check system alerts drivers to any functionality issues with visual and audible warnings.
Bromco is backed by an official confirmation letter from TFL, validating our DVS PSS solution’s compliance with their specifications, ensures that your vehicles are fully aligned with current regulations.
